Note MeUncle Kyuketsuki Wants You!
And other such things
THE BASICS: write a Christmas/Holiday wish list. It can be any 10 wishes you'd like to have granted, no matter what they are. Possible or seemingly impossible. People look and grant the wishes if they can. It's not about "OMFG PRESENTS", it's about making someone else's holiday a little brighter by giving. Personally, I get more out of giving than receiving sometimes. It's just a good feeling to give.
STEP ONE
** Make a post in your journal. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
** If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. In this case, you can always just note someone on dA.
** Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, so that others can join in and participate to spread the holiday joy!
STEP TWO
** Surf around your friend list to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
** If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
** You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
*****************************
1. For me to get my drivers license (this is not simply because I am procrastinating to get it. There are some other things in my path that I would like away soon
)
2. To have more courage to do more things (comment ect. )
3. To apply to either the local bookstore or the local comic shop for a job.
4. To improve on my colouring and inking.
5. I dont know. To actually meet someone at AN next year that I know (but didnt bring myself) and who would just enjoy going around the con and just being geektastic with me

6. Fanart? Haha, I feel weird asking for that.
7. More time to read and write and just play video games for the whole day (and beat that darn Yukiko boss in Persona 4).
8. To pass my American history and chemistry exams. I am so worried for them (though they arent until next year
)
9. To get motivated to write down full novels/stories floating around in my head.
10. I think
Just for someone to wish my Merry Christmas.
I don't really expect anything, but only because these are pretty much obscure... I just wanted to do this

I just finished reading The Dust of 100 Dogs by T.A. King and Dreams of the Dead by Thomas Randall. They were both really good c:>
Dust of 100 Dogs by King was interesting because it dealt with pirates and curses and dogs. My friend who bought it for me was pretty confused as to how King would be able to write about all 100 lives and then the next (human) life. King doesn't write all 100 canine lives, but she does write in the perspective of a couple of those lives, in quick, bitter sweet chapters. I really like how King wrapped everything up, and I really appreciated the beginning when she repeated it at the end and I knew what was going on. But I was pretty sad that David didn't get more page time. I was rooting for him.
Dreams of the Dead by Randall is about a gaijin girl Kara who moved to Japan with her father after her mother dies. Death surrounds her school though, and many students are having nightmares, including herself. Students start to die in a mysterious way, and Kara and her friends worry that it is the spirit of a girl who was murdered at the bay by the school who is murdering these kids. Dreams of the Dead brought me in from the first sentence, as chilling as it was. It's really interesting too for those who are interested in Japanese culture and myth.
Right now though, I have to read The Shining by Stephen King and Going Bovine by Libba Bray. And, and, I just picked up Dogs 0, and I think I'll be picking up the next volume too. Have a great day
